On the morning of 8th January, I woke up to a scattering of snow in the
garden below our windows. It continued snowing almost all of the day,
creating a magical kingdom of my everyday neighbourhood. I've never seen
so much snow in London before and the papers later reported that it was the most
snow London had seen in the last 12 years.
Our street in the snow. It looks very picturesque, but by the next day a
layer of ice had formed over the snow leaving the pavement like a skating rink!
The garden square from the gate. We look down into this from our windows
and it looked just like a Christmas card.
The fountain was still playing but the water dripping down over the heron had
frozen.
Walking through the mews to our street.
Frosted trees.
