Main Quest

1. The Siege of Greilyn Beach

This is the tutorial phase of the game. Just follow along. Make sure you talk to everyone with an exclamation or question mark above them.

2. Prisoner of War                     Quest-giver: Warden Celia

Apprentice Telenu has the sharpening stones. You can also get the first secondary quest when you speak to her. The outpost is situated not far from the gate, just follow the path and the dryad guide that will meet you just past the incantation shrine. Free the imprisoned dryads and speak to Warden Celia to complete the quest.

On the way to the outpost you will meet some other characters. Lirrit will tell you about health and mana bushes, and Esselte will tell you about incantation shrines. Esselte will also teach you the chant of lesser fortification.

Just off the path to the north of the incantation shrine is a tower. Take the lift down and talk to Hanish. He will explain about sanctuaries. There is one for each speciality in the tower and is probably worth it for the loot. The second chant is here too.

3. The Morden Towers              Quest-giver: Warden Celia

Warden Celia won’t remove your collar until you’ve destroyed the four Morden Towers. These are situated along the path to the north of the outpost. It’s probably a good idea to pick up some more party members in Eirulan if you haven’t already. Deru and Lothar are waiting by the North Gate.

At the first tower free Nen. She’ll tell you how to destroy the towers. Pick up a piece of wood from the cage and light it in the fire. Then set fire to the tower.

Once the last one is destroyed, return to Eirulan and speak to Warden Celia. She will direct you to Taar at the Great Hall to have your collar removed. Speaking to Taar will lead you straight on to the next chapter in the main quest.

4. The Plague                                Quest-giver: Taar

You’ve been infected with the plague from animal bites. The cure is to drink the water from the fountain in an ancient Elven shrine. The shrine is right at the end of the north road, so teleport to the Western Greilyn Jungle and follow the path south to the shrine.

Once inside the shrine, kill the evil little Hak’u and take the lift down. The puzzle for secondary quest 4 is in a secret area right by the lift. Continue on, find the fountain and click on it. You’re now cured and can go back to Taar using the teleporter in the adjacent room. She will give you the next task.

5. The Dryad Exile Colony         Quest-giver: Taar

Taar asks you to take whatever water is left in the vial to the exile colony. She will also offer to accompany you.

Leave Eirulan via the south gate near the pet shop. Follow the path through the Southern Greilyn Jungle and into the Eastern Greilyn Jungle. Keep following the path until you reach the colony.

You will meet the Azunite scholar for the first time here. You are too late to save the colony, but the scholar will give you the next quest and blast aside the logs across the path.

6. Leaving Greilyn Isle                 Quest-giver: Azunite Scholar/Vix

To reach the desert portal, you must traverse the Kithraya Caverns. Continue along the path, past the Eastern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and through a narrow cavern. Follow the path west to a small ruin where you will find Vix, a survivor from a squad of soldiers.

He will ask you to look for any other survivors. You can add him to your party if you have room.

You will find the rest of his squad in the Lower Kithraya Caverns. It’s too late to save them and you will have to kill the creatures they have become.

After the cavern with Vix’s squad, you will be at a crossroads. Take the southeast path to complete secondary quest 5, The Kithraya Hive. Going northeast will take you to Greilyn Beach.

After you‘ve exited the caverns, take the path down to a red shard and destroy it. Continue down the path to the beach and have a chat with the Azunite Scholar. He will activate the portal. Step through it to the Azunite Desert Outpost. Talk to Captain Suzor to finish the chapter and get the next quest.

7. Secret of the Azunite Desert     Quest-giver: Captain Suzor, Azunite Desert Outpost

Go through the East Gate that Captain Suzor has opened for you and go down the hill. You need to find 4 stelae. They are guarded by Devoted Skath Avengers, who you will need to kill.

i. Stela of Blindness Continue down path to the north, stelae guardian will be right in front of you

ii. Stela of Life Go through the gate to the west and continue west

iii. Stela of Death Go through the north gate on the path and up the hill. Go past the tower and then turn towards the south

iv. Stela of Sight Rejoin the path and follow it north, but turn to the west before you get to the tunnel entrance.

You now need to find the lost vault of the Azunites. Rejoin the path and go through the tunnel entrance up ahead, then follow the signs to the Azunite Shrine at the east side of the cavern. (the signposted way to Windstone Fortress is blocked but you can get some treasure there).

Go through the Azunite Shrine, down in two lifts until you reach the stelae room. Put the stelae in the sockets and a silver mirror and a map to the vault will appear on the central plinth. A door to the west of the room will open. This finishes the chapter.

8. The Lost Azunite Artifact         Quest-giver: Completion of previous chapter

Go through the west door and up in the lifts. Follow the corridor and come out in the Lost Valley of the Azunites. Follow the path through the valley and through two caverns. You will need to solve the mirror puzzle at the east end of the second cavern to access the vault.

To solve the puzzle, slot the mirror from chapter 7, into the empty arms of the southeast statue. You’ll then need to rotate each statue to catch the light and direct it to the plinth in the middle. The solution is:

Go down the long, long stairway into the vault and pick up the Azunite weapon. Talk to the Azunite Ancestor. He will fill you in on some background, give you a power-up, some loot and the next quest.

9. The Windstone Fortress         Quest-giver: Azunite Ancestor

Go back up into the cavern and speak to the ancestor again. He will blast open the wall so you can begin your journey to Windstone Fortress. It’s quite a long journey, through the Azunite cliffs, Isteru’s Caverns and the Windstone tunnels. Continue through the eastern gate complex, then turn north past the teleporter to find Captain Dathry. It’s worthwhile to complete secondary quest 13 as you go, because you will need the key you get as a reward to enter the purple death room in the inner vault.

Captain Dathry has information about how to activate the Azunite Artifact and will give you the key to the outer vault. Go back south a little way and go through the entrance on your left to access the vault.

Once in the vault, you will need to solve the puzzle to continue. Just fit the correct colored hexahedrons in the slots. In the red blindness room, you will need to kill Lieutenant Naymek to get the inner vault key.

Activate the Azunite Artifact in the Azunite Fire located in the room beyond the red blindness door. There is some good treasure in there.

Return to Captain Dathry. He will blast away the rubble to clear the way to the Temple of Xeria. You can complete secondary quest 12 at this point.

Lastly fight your way through the Fellspine beasts and enter the temple to finish the chapter.

10. The Temple of Xeria                 No quest-giver

Your task is to clear out the temple of Xeria. To do this, you will first need to solve another color puzzle, this time with spheres. Put the correct spheres in the sockets to open secret areas which contain additional spheres and puzzle sockets. When you have completed this, a last secret area will open. It contains a chant and some good treasure.

The doors to the north will now be unlocked. Go through and kill all the creatures there. You can’t use the Azunite weapon until they are all dead. Click on the Azunite statue in the centre to use the weapon. It will kill all remaining creatures.

Your last task is to find the shard and destroy it. In the room behind the Azunite statue, take the east door. Go past the teleporter and down the stairs, through the doors and outside into the temple courtyard. You’ll need to kill the three headed beast to destroy the shard. It’s a good idea to take out the head called Vitalus first because it can heal the others. Watch out for the tail hitting the hole in the pavement in front of the creature, because that causes a lot of damage.

Once you’ve killed the trillisk, it only takes one hit to destroy the shard. The way to the Aman’lu portal is then clear and Act I is complete.

Secondary Quests

1. The Armorer's Apprentice         Quest-giver: Apprentice Telenu, Blacksmith shop in Eirulan        Completed in Act I

Telenu needs to make a suit of Dryad Armor. This is pretty simple, but you won’t be able to complete it until you’ve finished Chapter 3 The Morden Towers in the main quest. Once your prisoner collar has been removed:

i. Find book of smithing in the Great Hall.

ii. Read the instructions and then instruct Telenu.

If you give her the right information, she will give you the armor she makes.

To find it, go to the Northern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and go northwest towards the elven shrine. Immediately you enter the Western Greilyn Jungle, the cave entrance is to the west of the path.

You might want to activate the bridge to the rest of the caves while you are here.

Go back to Eirulan and speak to Hesla. At the end of the dialogue about Hrawn, the High Priest’s son, you will get a second Hak’u quest.

7. The Hak’u Part II                                 Quest-giver: Hesler, in infirmary in Eirulan                                        Completed in Act I

To find Hrawn, go to the Eastern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and turn northwest, towards the Dryad Exile Colony. When you reach the colony, go through the southwest gate and up to the incantation shrine. The entrance to Hrawn’s cave is right there.

After you’ve spoken to Hrawn, your next task will be to kill the usurper. His cave is in the Western Greilyn Jungle. Go to the Western Greilyn Jungle teleporter and cross the path towards the incantation shrine. At the shrine, go through the gap in the wall to the south. The usurper is through the door a little further south.

Kill the usurper and then report back to Hesla.

8. Dire Wolf                                                 Quest-giver: Pet Merchant Neda                                                        Complete in Act I

Firstly you will need to talk to Rokhar. You can find him in the Great Hall in Eirulan. Then follow him to the rift site. This is in the Eastern Greilyn Jungle. Go to the Southern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and then go east along the path, through Razka’s ruins. Just north of the path, you’ll find a Hak’u camp. Go through this, across the wooden bridge, through the small cave to the rift site.

Once you’ve helped Rokhar capture the dire wolf, go back to Pet Merchant Neda for a reward.

9. Taar’s Investigation                               Quest-giver: Arriane, in house by Great Hall in Eirulan                Complete in Act I

You must have Taar in your party to get this quest.

First find the Hak’u ceremonial blade. Go to the Northern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and go northwest (towards the elven shrine). Go past a tower on the left and across a bridge. When you get to the health shrine, go north and cross the bridge to the camp.

Once you have the knife, you need to find the Hak’u beast. It lives in a dark, bone-filled cave in the Southern Greilyn Jungle. To get to the cave, leave Eirulan from the south gate and walk along the path until you see a Hak’u camp to the south of the path. Keep going south past the camp along a corridor and you will find the cave.

Slay the beast and take the head back to Arriane.

10. Felwyr the Blacksmith                         Quest-giver: Feldwyr, in underground shelter past Eastern Greilyn Jungle teleporter.    Complete in Act II

Felwyr needs you to recover his anvil and mythril ore. To find him, go to the Eastern Greilyn Jungle teleporter and continue in the direction of the Kithraya Caverns. Feldwyr is in an underground shelter to the east of the path, by some small ruins. Be careful, the items are guarded by some reasonably powerful creatures.

i. The anvil is in the north wing, guarded by a plagued elder hak’u witch doctor

ii. The mythril ore is in the south wing. The south wing is guarded by a decorated taclak tracker and the ore itself by a decorated taclak basher.

iii. Felwyr’s hammer has been stolen while you were recovering his other items. It’s in the section behind the bashed in wall, guarded by two decorated taclak trackers.

11. A Family Heirloom                                 Quest-giver: Thestrin, in tower in Azunite Desert                        Complete in Act I

To get to the tower, go to the Azunite Desert teleporter and then through the east gate of the desert outpost. Follow the path past the first stelae guardian and up the hill. The tower is right by the path.

Thestrin will ask you to recover an heirloom from his family’s crypt. To get to the crypt, go to the Azunite Desert teleporter and then walk south. By the south gate to the outpost, turn southeast., then east down the hill. Continue east up the far side of the wadi and you will see the crypt in front of you.

There are very powerful creatures in the crypt so be prepared. If you open any of the side doors you will let them out, so you might prefer just to proceed directly to the riddle (unless you’re coming back to this one after leveling up some more). The order of the answers is:

i. Azunai

ii Xeria

iii Elandir

iv. Zaramoth

If you answer incorrectly, two creatures will appear. You might find it useful to do this a few times, because they have some good loot with them. Also you might need the experience to fight the two undead soldiers in the heirloom room. Otherwise, you can try to run in and grap the sword before they get you.

Whatever way you do it, take the sword back to Thestrin. When you talk to him, you can choose not to return the sword if you like. He will give you two chants as a reward.

12. The Imprisoned Half Giant                 Quest-giver: Sartan                                                                            Complete in Act I

You can find Sartan imprisoned in Windstone Fortress, just north of the Windstone Fortress teleporter. You will need to complete chapter 9 of the main quest before you can free him.

Once you’ve activated the Azunite Artifact in chapter 9 of the main quest and Captain Dathry has cleared the way to the Temple of Xeria, talk to Soldier Orayne. He will agree to free Sartan. Sartan will offer to join you, or you can send him to the pub for a beer.

13. The Missing Squadron                      Quest-giver: Squadron Leader Taarth or Private Banos            Complete in Act I

Squadron Leader Taarth is in the Windstone Fortress and he can give you this quest. It’s more likely though that you’ll find Private Banos in the eastern gate complex first, and get it from him. Here are the locations of the missing soldiers:

i. Private Banos - Eastern Gate Complex. First room on the south side of the corridor, coming from the direction of the Windstone Tunnels.

ii. Private Caiden - Western Gate Complex. Far room.

iii. Private Nolan - Windstone Fortress Barracks, south side. Room to the west.

Squadron Leader Taarth is located just to the north of the Windstone Fortress teleporter. Report to him when you have found the missing soldiers to complete the quest. He will give you a dusty key which you will need to enter the purple death room in the Windstone Fortress Inner Vault (chapter 9 main quest).

14.  Secrets of Xeria's Temple                 Quest-giver: Grizzled Bar Patron                                                    Complete in Act I

The grizzled bar patron will give you a stone with the symbol of life on it.  Use this in the puzzle you will find in Chapter 10.  Each stone you place will open a secret area.  Once you've opened all the secret areas and taken the loot you'll find, return to the bar to finish the quest.
